    Look at the words: …
Look at the words: katsu curry is a curry with a deep fried meat cutlet. Seems the word katsu means “deep fried meat cutlet.”
I LOVE katsu anything, as I love deep-fried food and especially anything in panko bread crumbs.
When I used to go to a restaurant and order “chicken katsudon” I remember thinking it sounded like “chicken – cat suit on.” I got a kick out of that :)

    I just made this …
I just made this for lunch and it was fast and easy and delicious! I can’t find dashi where I am, but I found a video describing how to make it (it’s boiled kelp and bonito flakes) and it can be bought online. I also left out the mitsuba as I can’t find it here either. But what I made was delicious, fast and easy and I plan to make it again and again and again lol :)
Yes, katsudon is similar, but features a deep-fried meat cutlet, the rest is mostly the same :)

I think this is similar to katsudon, don’t you think?? the way the chicken is cooked with onions, mirin, sake, soy sauce and sugar, plus the mitsuba in the end! :) if so, I’m surely going to love this dish, too!

    Not “使えない”, but “点 …
    Not “使えない”, but “点かない(tsuka-nai)”
点く(tsuku) is a verb for “light”
What she said at 2:33 means “I can’t light a fire”.

Anyway, thank you for having an interest in Japanese culture. And I love cats, too.

    Oyakudon means …
Oyakudon means parent and child in Japanese literally the chicken and egg. Its really tasty try it. Also like most (excluding tonkatsu and tempura) traditional Japanese foods it has no oil so its healthy as well.
