Alright dave, first …
Alright dave, first time ever cooking a whole chicken, put everything in a pan to sear it, i kind of burnt the onions abit as i wasn’t really prepaired. but seared all sides. seasoned all sides and dumped everything in the crock pot. gonna put it on high for 3 hours, then low for another 5-6.
I love the anticipation of waiting to see how it turns out. I’ll post a result as to how it turns out, but the chicken said it may contain kidneys. should i have tried to remove them?

Hey Gumby,
Sure …
Hey Gumby,
Sure the grease has flavor but it is grease. The flavor is going to come from the onions and the garlic. Cook it in the crock for 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low maybe? Depending on your crock. Check it any way after a couple of hours and see how fast it is cooking. I dont thin you can over cook in a day in a crock pot? Let me know how it turns out!
Thanks,
Dave

Why do you drain …
Why do you drain the juices? isn’t that flavor?
Anyway, going to try this in a crock pot. going to do everything similar to you. however in a large pan. sweat onions in the pan, sear the chicken and then throw it in the crock pot.
any idea how long i should leave it in the crock pot? i’m kind of new to cooking but i’m sick of packaged foods.
