    Lovely track.

    I …
    Lovely track.

I can hear some similarities with the lemon song bass line at parts but it’s just a case of Jaco taking a bass line from the public doman, then developing it in his own unique fashion, asgreat jazz musicians tend to do.

Anyway, The Lemon Song was stolen from Howlin’ Wolf who recorded it as Killin’ Floor years earlier.

    I met him in 1987, …
I met him in 1987, on the street in Fort Lauderdale, I think it was in Wilton Manors. After my wife & I heard he got killed, word on the street was he was set up. He owed someone money for coke fronted to him & they wanted to teach him a lesson. Jaco was an at times but he had a drug problem. Even if he was drunk, he was fighting for his life. People don’t understand a drug problem is a disease. Shame. Anyway, the world still misses you some 22 years later. RIP Jaco, & RIP my wife Lynn.

    Hi diamonddust22, …
Hi diamonddust22, you’ve misunderstood my reaction, somebody else wrote; “is this the lemon song?” (check older messages) so my reaction was: “whaha, the lemon song, funny (like, funny that somebody thinks it’s the lemon song)”
So next time I’ll be more clear :-)

bobvanluijt hate to tell you, that the guys in Led Zep were good, but they could never touch Jaco in a million years. This is not the Lemon song, and you are an amateur to think so.

Sorry sir but you are quite wrong. Jaco was undiagnosed manic depressive and his abuse began in the typical age seen with such cases. Go read any biographic piece on him or have someone else on this thread tell ya.

John’s cool but the electric sound choices seem to smear rather than nourish the sound to me. And fashion mite not be a strong point.
Jaco is still calling me for ideas ,;-)
