There are plenty of other eggs out there, so how did Chicken eggs end up being the preferred egg to eat. I am sure it has to do with the fact that chickens are pretty easy to keep and are really prolific as well. But I am sort of looking for the history of how Chicken eggs ended up being the usual standard for cooking and eating.

You got it right. chickens are easy to keep and will keep laying eggs for most of the year where many other birds will only lay a few eggs at certain times. Duck eggs are also very popular for the same reason. In fact the record for the number of eggs layed in a year was held by a Runner Duck. The problem with Ducks was that they tended to fly away. Breeding has produced many breeds that do not fly and Duck eggs are very common in Europe and Asia.
