Hi there, i could not find thick soy sauce anywhere. I did find Bead Molasses in the asian section. Could I mix that with soy sauce to make thick soy sauce?

Bourbon is made …
Bourbon is made from corn – as stated above, and rum is made from sugar and molasses. I don’t think there are sulfites in bourbon, but the best thing would be to ask the person at the liquor store. Also, the thick soy sauce does have molasses in it – just in case your allergy to rum is directly related to the molasses. Thanks for writing

Although dark meat …
Although dark meat does have a little more flavor, I always prefer the breast meat simply b/c it’s healthier. You could use either in this recipe
For this recipe you can substitute the thick soy with 3/4 tsp of molasses and 1/4 tsp regular soy

you’ll be fine, if …
you’ll be fine, if you’re really worried about it, boil the marinade for 2-5 minutes prior to adding it to the chicken. But notice she brought it to a boil before she added the thickener. I promise you’ll be fine, done it for years

Im shocked no one said something about it, but I read and hurd from tv cooking shows that you never reuse marinades that had raw protein. Since bacteria lives on that liquid. Hopefully IM wrong because I am going to give this recipe a try.
