The instructions on the back of chicken pot pie clearly state that after cooking, the internal temperature should read 165 degrees with an internal cooking thermometer.

As I don’t have one, will it be ok to eat without checking? Do most people don’t bother using one anyway?

I’m cooking it in an oven by the way, not a microwave.

Thanks!

As you are using a pre-packaged pot pie, clearly the first person did not read carefully enough, don’t worry about it as you can compensate by baking slightly longer than the directions (up to five minutes) and watch for the juices bubbling through the holes you poked in the top of it.

In making a homemade pot pie, typically yes, you would cook the chicken first, so you just need to look for the juices bubbling, the veggies should be done by that point.

I have never used a meat thermometer in making any kind of meat pot pie.

I have some chicken thighs and legs and want to make dinner tonight :) . Preferably I would only like to spend 30 mins cooking so and quick recipes would be great. Also, i aint cooked tht many things so anything easy wud be great aswell =).

The quickest thing to do with chicken by far, is cut it into strips and fry it with rice.

I always order a grilled chicken sandwich at restaurants and they are so good! Especially Red Robin…then I try to make one at home and it tastes awful! I have tried various marinades, but they taste weird. These are just plain chicken sandwiches but taste completely different than what I make. Why? How is a Red Robin chicken sandwich so much better? I’ve tried several kinds of chicken breast and it doesn’t make a difference.
A lot of the times I get a PLAIN chicken sandwich, nothing on it. So it’s not the toppings I’m talking about!

Soak your chicken breast in "Butter Milk" for 8-10hrs. Then coat in your favorite dry rub. I like this:

3 Tbs Kosher Brown Sugar
2 Tbs Kosher Salt
1 Tbs Chili Powder
1 Tbs Paprika
1 Tsp onion powder
1 Tsp Old Bay

Also Buttering and Grilling the inside part of your buns will really improve the flavor of what ever is in it.
