Ok I know you have to be careful when handling raw chicken because of the salmonella.
So any suggestions to how to sanitize counter, sink, and dishes after cooking chicken.
My mom uses clorox on dishes counter and sink…..is that safe.
She also then puts the sponge that she use to wash dishes in the microwave… she said the heat will kill the salmonella. < are those good and safe techniques.
The clorox she uses is in a spray bottle.
It’s better if you don’t use sponges because they are porous. It’s better to clean with a dish towel so that you can throw it in the wash. First, clean the contaminated area with soap and water, getting any raw chicken juices and bits up. Then spray the area with one capful of bleach in a spray bottle full of water. Spray the area and let sit for 10 minutes, or even just air dry.
To sanitize dishes, wash them with soap and water, rinse with warm water, then let them soak in a sinkful of cold water to two capfuls of bleach. Let them sit in the water about a minute then pull out to dry. The plates and things can air dry.
